Ghanaian-American writer and actor Bioh previously penned the emotional comedy School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play, which won the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Play. Whitney White is an award-winning director, musician, and actor and is the recipient of an Obie Award and a Lilly Award.

Hymn explores the fraternal bonds between two black men in their middle age, charting the nuanced familial relationships they each hold. Premiering at London's Almeida Theatre and originally set in the UK capital, Chakrabarti has specially created a fresh adaptation tailored for CST, re-setting the play in Chicago with the city's vibrant cultural backdrop.

The United Kingdom's prestigious Royal Shakespeare Company begin a new association with Chicago Shakespeare Theatre by bringing William Shakespeare's classic, lesser known play, Pericles, to the stage!
