Move over, you Prada-wearing Devil. The cutthroat, glamorous enclave of the lowly editorial assistant is the main focus of this razor-sharp satire of the publishing world. Branden Jacobs-Jenkins' dark comedy first premiered in 2015 at New York's Vineyard Theatre to critical praise across the board and even won over those working in the city's hyper-competitive magazine industry. It's all-out war when a group of editorial assistants have to battle each other to put out the best story and secure their careers in the top flight!

The Latin American telenova provides the basis for this stormingly funny comedy by Karen Zacarias that premiered in 2015 at the Women's Voices Theater Festival in DC. Exploring the themes of race, gender, class politics and dramas that have made the telenova a worldwide cultural phenomenon, Destiny Of Desire is a wickedly dark comedy drama that fans of the genre will love, and will no doubt entice new audiences to the television phenomenon long after the curtain falls.

The trauma of escaping war never leaves you - even after you get to safety. That is the premise of this haunting work by Charles Smith that premiered in 2015 at the Goodman. A Liberian man flees the torture and horrors of the Charles Taylor rebellion, leaving behind his family before seeking asylum in Australia. However, the trauma of his suffering threatens to overcome him despite his new relatively comfortable home country.

Eugene O'Neill's spirited comedy is a testament to youthful hijinks and love, a huge departure from his more serious works including Long Day's Journey into Night. Goodman Theatre's lauded artistic director Robert Falls continues to explore the works of the prolific playwright, following his critically acclaimed production of The Iceman Cometh. This play follows the efforts of a lovestruck teenager on the Fourth of July, 1906 as he tries to woo his neighbour, despite her father's disapproval.
