NOT WORTH THE WAIT

The Doobies can still rock after 50 years on the road. But they need to give the audience what they want - to hear the hits! The band played 17 songs before we recognized one of their hits. Don’t play 3 songs from your new album - no one cares! Also, if you say the concert starts at 7:30 don’t start at 7:56. Very disrespectful to the audience.

JUST AVERAGE

A boring evening watching a band I grew up on struggle to stay in sync. Michael McDonald was just off and often out of time with band. A Hot Mess is a good description. Certainly not worth the two years I waited for this twice delayed concert !

SHORELINE AMPHITHEATER 9/27/22

Horrible mix that overemphasized the base and overpowered the vocals. Additionally, the volume was cranked up way too high adding additional distortion. This ruined, ,what otherwise could have been, a good show. The band had good energy and Tommy J’s voice has held up well; Michael M’s not so much, but it was hard to tell with the bad mix. Song set was great, just wish the overall sound volume was lower and sound quality intelligible. Don’t understand why professional sound mixers would subject an audience to such abuse.

DOOBIE BROTHERS

Very disappointed with the Doobie Brothers Concert in Dallas this weekend!!! acoustics were horrible and all you could hear was the drum beat all night!!! We left after 45 mins!!! People were complaining about them playing new songs on their new album!!! We came to hear Oldies from the Band!!! And the Majestic where we saw them needs a Update ASAP!!! Seats were so uncomfortable!!!!

DISAPPOINTING

I was looking forward to a night of great music by the Doobie Brothers including classic tunes. The result was disappointing. The sound was terrible and the bulk of the concert included new music. It was hard to hear the vocals as the instruments and drums were so very loud. I kept thinking they would have a set of the older tunes but that was not the case. I think many left the concert disappointed. I know I did.

BORING AND REPETITIVE

Saw Doobies in Simpsonville SC outdoors. Only people standing were small crowd of maybe 30 right in front of stage. Vocals were quite pitchy at times. song selection very low energy and seemed very repetitive with lots of sax riding over everyone except the drummer's bass drum. Didn't recognize most of the first hour of concert and left. Thankfully ticket was just $25... Goo Goo Dolls played same venue month before and were much, much higher energy...and I don't like GGD...

GARBLED & TOO SAX-EY

Tulsa, OK 7/2/2024 The musicianship was there, the vocals and band were tight and the Doobies brought high energy to a very responsive Tulsa crowd. They were excellent. It's too bad their management does not read reviews. The. Sound. Is. TERRIBLE. We could barely recognize the songs. Michael McDonald was completely drowned out on his few songs and there was way too much shrieking from the saxophone. The player was terrific but it was overkill and, coupled with the horrible sound production, it made for a very frustrating evening. The opening act was an hour long. Typically, four blues songs and I'm done. Everyone around us was playing with phones and complaining. Every time a new song started, you could hear the frustrated whispers. I wanted to love this show but we should've stayed home. We're so disappointed. 😞
