GREAT STORY, GOOD ACTING, NEEDED MORE SUBSTANCE IN SOME AREAS, AND LESS IN OTHERS.
So walking in to theatre the DJ is great, playing patriotic and current songs. The premise of the play is great, two young men, figuring out life in their 20’s and bonding over their beloved home team, the cavaliers and LeBron. The script/story needs a little more, like about their personal Lives other than the way they perceive themselves through their parents eyes, and filling them with guilt. In second act, after LeBron leaves the cavaliers to go to Miami, and the characters go their separate ways, race finds it way into the dialogue. It has no place, it hangs out there, and not really addressed, because it really has no bearing on their friendship or the story, Felt forced. Acting is excellent, story is good, script needs to tighten up a bit and let a little more of their lives, personality into the story. Steppenwolf is beautiful, stage and set were fantastic. Acting and direction very good. I would recommend!
