George Orwell's nightmarish vision of the future is presented by AstonRep in a new adaptation by Robert Owens, Wilton E. Hall Jr. and William A. Miles.
Recognised as one of the landmark works of 20th Century literature, 1984 is set in a totalitarian Britain ruled over by Big Brother, a dictator who keeps the population in line with an evasive surveillance network. The story focuses on Office drone Winston, who after falling for the mysterious Julia, embarks on a series of increasingly dangerous acts of rebellion against the system.
With a production currently on Broadway, and rumors of a new movie adaptation in the air, there's no doubt that 1984 remains as vital a piece of drama as ever.
