An adventure of fairy tale proportions!
Stephen Sondheim's enchanting modern fairytale Into The Woods has offered audiences a magical new twist on the story-telling genre ever since its Tony winning debut in 1986. Now the classic musical enjoys a local revival at Chicago's Metropolis Performing Arts Centre this Fall!
Turning the tales of the Brothers Grimm on their heads, the story follows a childless baker and his wife. Desperate for the pitter patter of tiny feet in their home, the couple find out their woes are the work of a witch, who placed a curse on the baker's father. Together, they make a deal with the witch, they must perform poetically impossible tasks for the crone in order for the curse to be lifted. As they undertake their magical quest, they meet a host of familiar characters on the way including a certain sleepy princess and a certain beanstalk climber...
