DREAM THEATER SHOW AT TOYOTA MUSIC FACTORY IN IRVING DEC. 2

Best show of the year. The band, the professionals they are, were flawless. Every musician in the band is a master of their instrument from odd timing to complex harmonies buried in buoyant melody. Images and Words album was played and sounded just as good as 25 years ago. Looking forward to their next album which was announced for the year 2018. No wonder they have a loyal following... Rock on....

WELL WORTH MONEY

No backup band, 3-hr event, only a 15 minute intermission - wow, what a great value and what amazing talent that was showcased. My only complaint is the singer's inability to hit many of the high notes. I feel the lower-octave alternative detracted from the songs. I like his showmanship, though - a very good front man. The other 4 were amazing, arguably the best at their craft. The one-arm drum roll is crazy to witness. Petrucci never seems to miss a note - it's so cool to basically hear note-for-note a live rendition of what was recorded (and at warp speed!). Amazing bass and keyboards. All around, a very enjoyable night. This was my 5th show dating back to Images and Words. I will always return to see Dream Theater. I'm already excited about their '18 "album" and '19 tour!

GREAT SET LIST, SOME EQUIPMENT PROBLEMS?

Set list for first set was outstanding, second set was entire Scenes From a Memory, one of their best if not best albums. Could be because of where we sat, but amp and/or mix on Mangini's bass drum was horrible, drowned out Myung's work at times. Weird half-note drop lasting a few seconds cropped up on Petrucci's and Rudess' audio at times during the second set, perhaps due to a current sag that the theater couldn't handle? Audio feedback in Mangini's earpiece may have been delayed at the end of Finally Free, he was out of sync with the rest of the band. These are minor points, overall the show was great and I enjoyed it very much. Glad to see them in Nashville, funny story from LaBrie about their first visit. New album is a monster, can't wait for their next tour where they'll hopefully play more songs from it.

GREAT BAND! SOUND SUFFERED FROM MIX.

We had a great evening. The band was spot on, but Mangini's kick overpowered and ruined the mix.

AWESOME PERFORMANCE. SOUND MIX NEEDED IMPROVEMENT.

The musicians performed flawlessly! The sound definitely needed improvements though. Petrucci’s guitar cut through the mix very well but the cymbals were shrill and overbearing. Overall experience was great but the sound was definitely too loud.

WORST SOUND MIX EVER AT MICROSOFT THEATER!

Band was great, as usual, but the audience mix was horrible. Muddy bass, vocals too quiet.....by far the worst ever live sound! I will never attend a musical event at this venue...the same thing happened at the YES concert 4 years ago...see your favorites somewhere else if you want to enjoy the music.

FANTASTIC BAND, MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE - TERRIBLE SOUND LAST NIGHT

The low end was just terrible at the show in St. Louis last night. Could not hear/distinguish any bass drum hits, completely muddy. I've never been a fan of a single bass drum for metal(ish) bands. Independent bass drums with independent mics are the way to go, all trigger talk aside. Again, I will always love this band, but last night's show was horrible in terms of the auditory experience.
