Forever Plaid

Forever Plaid at Theatre at the Center

Why see Forever Plaid?

Back to the 50s

The 1950s saw the rumblings of blues and rock & roll which would eventually birth the musical revolution of the Sixties, but it was also the era of fun and wholesome four-part harmony groups, like the Four Aces and the Four Freshman. Forever Plaid takes us back to that era as we are introduced to imaginary group The Plaids, a quartet of clean-cut singers who were tragically killed in a car accident on their way to The Ed Sullivan Show. But never fear, because The Plaids are allowed to return from the afterlife to put on one final, dazzling show!

Forever Plaid originally debuted Off-Broadway in 1989 and was subsequently adapted for the big screen. Harmonizing their way through hits like 'Moments to Remember', 'Chain Gang', and 'Love is a Many-Splendored Thing' in this touring production are Jeff Madden, Scott Beaudin, Jonathan Cullen and Matt Cassidy.

Saturday at Drury Lane

Forever Plaid is packed with what we love about live theater. Engaging personalities, great talent and an hour and a half of suspended reality. The songs were “oldies” but the production was present day. The gags were great, the harmony right on. Great voices, great actors. Looking forward to seeing them again their next time at Drury Lane👍❤️ ... Read more

The group of four interacted very well. Each gave something to the performance. Two put a lot into their part with emotion and movement. I enjoyed the music, singing voices, and was happy that I was at the play. ... Read more
