Chicago Symphony Orchestra - Stravinsky, Beethoven and Sibelius

Chicago Symphony Orchestra - Stravinsky, Beethoven and Sibelius at Symphony Center Orchestra Hall

Why see Chicago Symphony Orchestra - Stravinsky, Beethoven and Sibelius?

ethereal beauty from three masters

Chicago Symphony Orchestra performs three majestically beautiful works from three of classical music's true masters, with Sibelius' ethereally magnificent Symphony No. 2 taking center stage. The program opens with Stravinsky's spiritual Symphony of Psalms, followed by Beethoven's elegant Piano Concerto No. 2 before the rousing finale.

Danish conductor Thomas Sndergrd leads the CSO through the performance, bringing a wealth of prestige and a resume which includes the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the Norwegian Radio Orchestra and presently the musical director of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. The pianist is the supremely talented Francesco Piemontesi, making his debut with the CSO.
