Chicago Symphony Orchestra - Rhapsody in Blue and Bolero at Symphony Center Orchestra Hall

Why see Chicago Symphony Orchestra - Rhapsody in Blue and Bolero?

Chicago Symphony Orchestra visit works by Ravel and George Gershwin

Those with an appreciation for jazz will enjoy the Chicago Symphony Orchestra's fusion of the musical style with a classical orchestra. The program combines two of American composer and pianist George Gershwin's most loved works: Porgy and Bess, A Symphonic Picture, and Rhapsody in Blue. The music performed is inspired by 20th-century jazz.

The program also includes performances of French composer Maurice Ravel's Piano Concerto in G Major and Bolero. The orchestra will be led by award-winning conductor Andre de Ridder with American-Israeli pianist Inon Barnatan on piano.
