A fusion of George Gershwin and Maurice Ravel
Those with an appreciation for jazz will enjoy the Chicago Symphony Orchestra's fusion of the musical style with a classical orchestra. The program combines two of American composer and pianist George Gershwin's most loved works: Porgy and Bess, A Symphonic Picture, and Rhapsody in Blue. The music performed is inspired by 20th-century jazz.
The program also includes performances of French composer Maurice Ravel's Piano Concerto in G Major and Bolero. The orchestra will be led by award-winning conductor Andre de Ridder with American-Israeli pianist Inon Barnatan on piano.
