Chicago Symphony Orchestra - Muti Conducts The Firebird at Symphony Center Orchestra Hall

Why see Chicago Symphony Orchestra - Muti Conducts The Firebird?

A MATINEE PERFORMANCE OF STRAVINSKY'S FIREBIRD

Add some sonic fire to your evening with Chicago Symphony Orchestra's thrilling performance of Stravinksy's Firebird Suite, as conducted by Riccardo Muti to open the CSO's 23/24 season. Upon its premiere in Paris in 1910, the suite proved a breakthrough for the then 27 year-old composer, becoming an instant classic and solidifying a long and celebrated career thanks to its glittering imagery, Russian folk-tinged rhythms and rising climactic movements.

Also on the program is fellow Russian composer Anatoly Liadov's The Enchanted Lake and Brahms' jovial Second Symphony, completing a marvellous program to kick off the new season.
