The Chicago Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Dalia Stasevska, is joined by Artist In Residence Hilary Hahn for a performance of Tchaikovsky's restorative and singular Violin Concerto. Composed during a recuperative holiday on Switzerland's Lake Geneva, the piece is said to have come about following a visit from student and lover, violinist Iosif Kotic.
Before this finale, the CSO will deliver playful in the form of Andrea Tarrodi's Birds of Paradise II, inspired by the Planet Earth footage of the mysterious titular creatures, alongside Bela Bartok's most famed and performed work, Concerto for Orchestra.
