Directed by Tony Award-winner Anna D. Shapiro, Good Night, and Good Luck transforms the hit 2005 film into a stage play set for its world premiere at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre. Set in 1950s Washington, the play tells the story of DC. Senator Joseph McCarthy who cruelly devises and carries out a campaign against communists only to be exposed by journalist Edward R. Murrow.

Upon its release, the film received numerous award nominations including six Academy Awards, six BAFTAs and four Golden Globes. It received a Producers Guild of America Award and five Venice Film Festival Awards amongst others.

The play is written by Matt Charman, adapted from the screenplay by George Clooney and Grant Heslov.
