Hold the phone! J-Pop sensation Ado is coming to North America! The viral star has absolutely exploded in popularity since her 2020 breakthrough aged just 17, smashing all the charts in Japan and becoming the sound of an entire subculture with huge hits soundtracking the animes One Piece Film: Red and Spy x Family. After huge wins at the MTV Japan Awards and the coveted Artist of the Year at the Billboard Japan awards, her recently announced world tour follows the 'Wish' tour, which saw her becoming the first ever female artist to headline the Japan National Stadium, alongside her shows in the US and Europe.
The mysteriously anonymous singer famously hides her identity, with her high energy, high production value shows featuring clever ambient lighting to cast a shadow across her face as she storms the stage. Making a name for herself through YouTube with viral single "Usseewa" and its accompanying animated video, the star is rapidly becoming one of the biggest new artists in the world and has collaborated with Nile Rodgers and Le Sserafim on the Japanese version of the single Unforgiven. Her 2024 sophomore album Zanmu shot straight to the top of the Japanese album charts and was certified gold by the RIAJ for shifting over 100,000 units.
