Northlight Theatre brings a heavenly visit to town this year, as The Angel Next Door swoops down to the Skokie stage. Director Linda Fortunato stages an exciting adaptation of award-winning writer Paul Slade Smith's play, which itself is a rehashing of Ferenc Molnar's 1926 work Play At The Castle (Jatek a Kastelyban). A zany romantic comedy about theater lovers, for theater lovers!
In Newport, Rhode Island in 1948, a long-suffering housekeeper is surrounded by playwrights and actors whose only way to deal with problems (a threatened romance, misunderstandings, and general chaos) is to stage a play.
