Nominated for four Tony Awards in 2024, Amy Herzog's award-winning play, Mary Jane, comes to Northlight Theatre under the direction of Georgette Verdin. Prior to its '24 Broadway run, the production received six Lucille Lortel Awards nominations and two 2018 Drama Desk Award nominations, following its off-Broadway debut. Seen as a celebration of women, community and kindness, don't miss this powerful drama as it comes to Skokie.
Mary Jane is a single mother and primary caregiver to Alex, her young son who suffers badly from chronic illnesses. The play follows her struggles in caring for him, depicting both the harsh realities of life as a single mother and the beauty of the female friendships born along the way, with Mary Jane gaining her strength from those around her.
