The Wizard of Oz

Why see The Wizard of Oz?

We're Off To See The Wizard!

Join Dorothy Gale and Co. as they journey down the Yellow Brick Road in search of the Wonderful Wizard of Oz in this magical production of L. Frank Baum's beloved hit, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Based on Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer’s legendary The Wizard of Oz - which famously starred Judy Garland - expect classic songs you know and love, including 'Over the Rainbow', 'We're Off to See the Wizard', and 'Follow the Yellow Brick Road', and many more from one of the most cherished stories ever brought to stage and screen.

What Is The Story?

After being swept away by a hurricane, Kansas farmgirl Dorothy and her trusty dog Toto find themselves in the strange land of Oz, where the roads are yellow and the cities are emerald. But all is not well in this technicolor territory, and if Dorothy and Toto stand any chance of getting home, they must dodge wicked witches and flying monkeys, among more of Oz's dangerous peculiarities. Luckily, they don't have to do it alone. With the help of three of the locals - a Tin Man, a Cowardly Lion, and a Scarecrow - Dorothy takes matters into her own hands, discovering along the way the true meaning of courage, friendship and self-belief, and that sometimes, home is where the heart is.

Wonderful

The entire cast did a tremendous job recreating childhood memories of the movie into living color. Each cast member did a phenomenal job perfecting the cadence, accent and mannerisms of the original cast members. Highly entertaining. You will have chills from the lion’s performance, but all cast members gave remarkable performances. ... Read more

Very Impressed!

Saw the evening performance on May 10th. I have seen many plays, tons of versions of OZ movies, I've seen Wicked twice and the 2 people with me have read lots of the OZ books. The play was great. Some small changes from the movie but mostly good changes and fun and funny. Some of the "personality added" I did not care for as much- Glenda and the Lion and Scare Crow. But the other people with me loved the Scare Crow. Over all very quality show and very very enjoyable!!! ... Read more

Stage adds interesting perspective for Wizard movie watchers

The Wizard of Oz is a very enjoyable rendition of the ago-old story of Dorothy, Toto, Scarecrow, Tinman, Cowardly Lion and the rest. There are a few new songs to become acquainted with. The acting was excellent across the board. Toto received the largest applause by far. We all wondered how he could always come to the right place, on or off stage, every single time. Dorothy's voice and energy are excellent. The special effects to show the tornadoes, movement of the house where Dorothy lived, and the perceived distance between Oz and Kansas were very well done. The play seemed to fascinate both children and adults. ... Read more
