On July 6 last year, Niantic and Nintendo began the roll-out of Pokemon Go, and the world of gaming was changed forever. A worldwide phenomenon, the augmented-reality app broke download and revenue records, and has now been downloaded over 750 million times. You couldn't turn a street corner without bumping into someone with their eyes glued to the phone, on the hunt for their next catch.
In celebration of its one year anniversary, a real world festival is coming to Chicago. Pokemon Go Fest promises special challenges and prizes, rare Pokemon which haven't been seen in Grant Park before, a players lounge, and all sorts of other Poke-related fun.
