The Improvised Shakespeare Company

The Improvised Shakespeare Company at Ewing Manor

Why see The Improvised Shakespeare Company?

Shakespeare doesn't get fresher than this!

Have you ever dreamed of creating your own Shakespeare play? Are you a fan of the Bard - and more importantly, zany hijinks? Then come on down each week for an evening of Improvised Shakespeare, where a whole play can be built around one audience member's suggestion! No two performances are ever the same as a result, so it's fast becoming a regular for Chicagoans. A masterclass in improvisational, Elizabethan-styled comedy, the talented troupe have been performing since 2005. Described by the Des Moines Register as "the Bard Meets 'Whose Line'", they are predominantly based in Chicago, but they tour the country on a regular basis.

A regular act on the festival scene, the ISC have been welcomed to perform at the likes of Piccolo Spoleto Fringe Festival, Just For Laughs in both Chicago and Montreal , Bonnaroo, the Bumbershoot Music and Arts Festival, Outside Lands, San Francisco Sketchfest, UCB’s Del Close Marathon, as well as performing Off-Broadway.
