The King and I

The King and I at Drury Lane Theatre Oakbrook Terrace

Why see The King and I?

shall we dance?

Starring Broadway's Adam Jacobs as The King of Siam! Whistle along to the happy tunes of bonafide Rodgers and Hammerstein classic The King And I when the much loved Broadway tuner wings its merry way to the Drury Lane Theatre in 2022. First making its bow on the Great White Way in 1951, the commercially and critically successful production won the Tony Award for Best Musical and ran for three years - later garnering two more Tony Awards for Best Revival of a Musical in 1996 and 2015 respectively.

Buoyant musical theatre classics like 'Shall We Dance', ' Whistle A Happy Tune' and 'Getting To Know You' punctuate the extraordinary tale of British schoolteacher Anna, who is called upon by the King of Siam to tutor his children in a drive to modernize his great kingdom. Strong-willed and fiery, the widowed teacher won't be intimidated by the King or his advisors, and an unspoken romance blooms.

KIng and I - A wonderfu production in every possible way!!

My daughters and I have been seeing musicals at the Marriott for over 20 years.. We had the pleasure of seeing The King and I on Oct 26. Out of all the productions we have seen, we all agree this was THE BEST . From the beginning to the very end, we were totally entertained, and loving it! The talent of this ensemble is truly incredible. Anna and the King both have such wonderful, strong voices and acting talent.. Honestly, the entire cast is amazing. The King's children are just adorable. and little bundles of joy to watch. We cried, laughed out loud and cried some more. We were very happy that the Marriott Theater stayed close to the movie story-line. Thank you for giving us all such a wonderful evening.. ... Read more
