Why see Rock of Ages?

The biggest guitar-loving musical is back!

Head back to Eighties-era Sunset Boulevard in this hair-raising hair-rock musical that took the world by storm when it premiered in 2009. Spawning touring shows as well as international productions, this ode to glam rock and hair metal features a staggering 28 numbers that includes iconic hits from Styx, Journey, Bon Jovi and was nominated for five Tony Awards when it appeared on Broadway in 2014. Now the story of Sheri and wannabe rocker Drew comes to Oakbrook Terrace, performed by Drury Lane's hugely talented cast.

Newcomer Sherrie is fresh off the bus from nowheresville, and sees Los Angeles' seedy Sunset Strip as her perfect chance to start over, and follow her dreams of becoming an actress. That is, until someone steals her suitcase, right outside of the world-famous Bourbon Rooms. Saved by the ambitious bus-boy, but wannabe singer Drew, it's love at first sight for the pair, but the course of true love never runs smooth, and there are a whole lot of obstacles in the way for their love and dreams on the wild scene.

Calling all Children of the 80's

If you grew up during the 80's you will really appreciate this show. I loved all of the music and the stage set and costumes were right on! There are no bad seats at Drury Lane. My aunt didn't appreciate this show as much as I did so I think it's geared more toward people that know the music of the 80's. There are many great places to eat in Oakbrook near the theater. Parking is the only issue for the restaurants. However, I have never had an issue with parking at Drury Lane. ... Read more
