Les Miserables

Do you hear the people sing?
Why see Les Miserables?
As Drury Lane celebrates its 30th anniversary season, they kick things off with a truly iconic musical, Les Miserables! A sweeping tale of romance, revolution and redemption that is not to be missed.
Based on Victor Hugo's novel, "Les Mis" takes you through three turbulent decades of 19th century France. Paroled ex-convict Jean Valjean is hunted relentlessly by Javert for breaking the terms of release and absconding. Somehow he must throw off the shackles of his past, and keep his vow to the fallen Fantine, to raise her young daughter Cosette.
With revolution in the air and Javert closing in, Valjean is forced to fight; both for his life and to protect the people he loves.
Les Miserables has garnered 50 international theater awards and is considered the world's longest running musical. It recently enjoyed an Academy Award-winning film adaptation, starring Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway.
