Three important facets of modern life form the basis of this trio of operas commissioned by the Lyric Opera of Chicago, painting a stark triptych of 21st-century issues, including how to connect in a world ruled by technology, the devastation wrought by gun violence on our cities and towns, and our impact on the earth and its precious resources.

Through the lens of the individual, the community, and of humankind, these three new works promise to provide a provocative and profound portrait of our world, and how we live in it.
