Complexities of love explored by Joffrey Ballet
Joffrey Ballet brings together three singular choreographers, including Winning Works' Houston Thomas, for this powerful new mixed rep, opening at the Lyric Opera House in February 2027! Crafting four extraordinary pieces around different aspects of love, Notes On Love dives into the complexities, beauty, and heartache of the feeling with cutting-edge choreography.
Four distinct pieces. Four very different sides of love. The program kicks off with Houston Thomas' love letter to Chicago, taking the movement of a city into its choreography. Next is Nicolas Blanc's All That Remains, which puts three dancers through a narrative of separation and nostalgia. Third up is Hummingbird, which explores the frantic passion and then the hard work that comes with love, and finally is Les Boeufoons - focusing on a small bar in 1920s Paris that attracted a host of artistic greats.
