No writer during the 20th century wrote more beautifully about the overlooked, the under-acknowledged, or the never-thought-about-at-all.

Celebrating the legacy of folk legend John Prine
Some of the greats from across music and beyond come together to celebrate the life and legacy of one of the most influential musicians of his generation, John Prine. Despite perhaps being less of a household name, acts including Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash and Roger Waters (Pink Floyd) among many others have noted Prine as one of their favorite musicians. With a lasting influence on the musical landscape, the show is a fitting tribute to a true legend, featuring members of Prine's band backing performers including John C. Reilly, Amos Lee, Alynda Segarra (Hurray for the Riff Raff), Jon Langford, Kathleen Edwards, Margo Price and many more.
Playing in the Chicago folk scene of the early '70s, John Prine was plucked from obscurity by Kris Kristofferson, an endorsement which helped to land him his first recording contract. That set the path for a career writing songs that would land him four Grammys from thirteen Grammy nominations, culminating in a Lifetime Achievement Award shortly before his death in 2020. Counting some of music biggest icons among his fans, he left a lasting mark on music's future, both through his own work and his influence on them.
