Neil Young

Neil Young at The Chicago Theatre

Why see Neil Young?

Neil Young follows on from his US tour with Crazy Horse and hugely successful acoustic solo gigs at Carnegie Hall in New York City to perform as additional series of acoustic concerts at select venues. The concerts, some of which are already sold out, will be a rare and exciting opportunity to witness the folk rock phenomenon play unplugged.

The Canadian singer-songwriter began his music career in in the 1960s with his band Buffalo Springfield, a venture which earned him his second place on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! The first was earned through his work as a solo artist.

Although he is accomplished in many music genres and on many musical instruments, his acoustic folk rock remains his signature style.

Shaking my head

I'm absolutely dumbfounded by the three star and less reviews here for this show! Neil performed 23 songs + 1 encore. A mix of classics and several brand new songs including the live debut of one! His performance was riveting from start to finish, the playing and singing was impeccable. He did in fact play all three pianos (including a 9 foot steinway which had been partially burnt in a fire) AND the pump organ on stage along with at least 4 of the guitars, a banjo (Old King!) and the Ukelele on the encore. You can't please everyone I guess. Cannot wait to see Neil with Lukas Nelson's band in Eugene on Thursday. ... Read more

Ignorant fans

People have to understand the Neil is pushing 80. For anyone who went last night and for anyone who was not able to comprehend how lucky we are to be able to witness this man on a good night doing what he does, well, you all lost out on an incredible experience. Maybe you had bad seats? Maybe you had a lot of talkers? Who know? But take if from a DIE HARD Neil fan, he was feeling it last night and it was awesome. Here is one of the absolute greatest artists in the last 100 years. One of the absolute greatest songwriters in the last 100 years. And last night he gave us his all and he was on. It's Neil Freaking Young, still alive and kicking and taking names! What more could anyone want? For those of you who missed that for whatever reason, that's really kind of a shame. Cause it was right there in front of you. ... Read more
