Great Britain's Royal Ballet returns with Don Quixote
The Royal Ballet brings Carlos Acosta's version of the starry-eyed Don Quixote's tale to North America! Based on Cervantes' golden Spanish classic The Man of La Mancha, Don first premiered before audiences in Russia in 1869 and the comedy story that blurs the lines between fantasy and reality has been a part of the popular ballet repertoire ever since.
The hapless hero Don Quixote finds his head turned by tales of medieval fantasy, where knights battle giants and save damsels in the name of chivalry. He decides to bring this era back, with the help of his sidekick Sancho. The wonder of his imagination gets them both into many scrapes, especially when faced with the task of freeing two lovers from their family's tyranny! Colorful and vivid, Don Quixote is a must see, and the Royal Ballet's execution of the tale is second to none!
