Ashland Avenue, a middling show
The directing was fine, the set perfect, Francis Guinan (the Dad) and Chike Johnson (Mike) were superb. The problem was the play. Just not that interesting. The playwright didn’t have enough depth in this two-hour play. And Goodman Theater: Why do you not mike the actors? I could barely hear the lead actress, Jenna Fischer (a tv/film actress who apparently never learned to project her voice.) In a theater this size, PLEASE consider miking your actors.
