1. It's Inspired by the Most Famous Christmas Poem Ever Written
If Clement Clarke Moore's 1823 poem A Visit from St Nicholas (better known as Twas' the Night Before Christmas) taught us anything, it is that today's image we see of Santa, big belly, red hat and all, comes from these verses. Cirque uses the structure and spirit of the poem as a springboard, then builds a whole magical world of flips and twists around it!
2. It's Cirque du Soleil's First-Ever Holiday Show
Cirque dipped their toes into winter-themed territory with Wintuk, a 2007 winter-inspired production. However, Twas' The Night Before is their first fully festive show, and their 49th production since 1984.
3. The Story Follows a Modern FatherDaughter Duo
Instead of sticking strictly to the poem, the show adds a contemporary twist. You follow Isabella, a teenager struggling with the holiday spirit, and her dad, who just wants to reconnect. Their journey into a magical winter world becomes the heart of the show.

4. Snowstorms, Candy-Coloured Acrobatics, and Giant Gifts
This isn't your typical cosy Christmas tale. Performers flip through swirling "snow," bounce on oversized presents, spin from candy-striped apparatuses, and dance in costumes that look like walking gingerbread dreams. The snow itself is used night after night, and there's so much of it, it could fill a 16-foot truck!
5. The Soundtrack Is Packed with Remixed Christmas Classics
Christmas classics get a modern makeover in this show, with Jean-Phi Goncalves who also revamped the music for Alegra: In A New Light creating a fresh, genre-blending score. Familiar tunes like God Rest You Merry, Gentlemen, Angels We Have Heard on High, and O Holy Night are reimagined with contemporary rhythms, while brand-new pieces such as The Spark and Jolly were written exclusively for 'Twas The Night Before.
