My Morning Jacket is coming out of four years of musical solitude with what looks to be a positively busy year. With a new album on the horizon and an extensive US tour that sees the band headline festivals Bonnaroo and Governers Ball, fans can rest easy knowing they'll be able to hear the sweet, soulful strains of Jim James' vocals (in recorded or live form) once more.
The group has become known for their fearlessness in genre bending and reinvention. While keeping in touch with their rock'n'roll, country-folk tinged roots, they've dabbled in everything from Alternative Indie Pop to dreamy Psychedelia. Their latest offering and seventh studio album Waterfall features intricate guitar lines, driving drums and epic string swells - the perfect way to welcome back Spring. Tour support comes from folk duo Hiss Golden Messenger.
