3 HOURS OF OPENING ACTS? AND NONE OF THEM ARE THUNDERCAT?

We got there at 7 thinking the "show" (Flying Lotus 3D) was starting at 8pm. We had to sit through 3 hours of lackluster to downright terrible (Peabody I'm talking about you. Get your own beats and maybe think about EQ every once in awhile) acts before FlyLo finally showed up. I almost left. FlyLo was awesome and the visuals were mind-blowing, but the show will forever be more remembered by the unacceptable wait time.

OPENING ACTS STOLE THE SHOW

No, no, no. Pbdy, Salami Rose? and SpaceTalkers? each came with a unique style and played with a consistent energy throughout their respective setlists. However, FlyLo's setlist was too scatter-brained with weak transitions and drops. Awesome visuals, tho.

ISSUES WITH OPENING ACT DURATION

I didn't understand the necessity to have 3 different artists to open a show that is not a festival, over 3 hours of waiting for Fly Lo. I would of omit Pbdy because his material was inconsistent and drained the crowed"s energy sonically speaking! Salami Rose configuration and stage act in my opinion seems better suited for intimate chamber room settings, so to speak, although her skills on the spot musical arrangement abilities, vocal sensitivity and harmonica solo left us speechless! Brandon Coleman"s unit was great and it should of had more time to fully develop its impression from a live band perspective because they brought great energy prior to the main act . Fly Lo was great, the visuals where incredible, although I think he should respond to encores, respectively! especially to a public that waited patiently 3 hours of opening act to see and hear him. I've spoken!
