The Chieftains are virtuosos and historians, and the musicians spent much of their show moving through jigs loaded with optimism and delight along with more stately, melancholic pieces.

Authentic Irish Song from The Chieftains

Irish melody makers The Chieftains have been attributed with the popularisation of traditional Irish music throughout the world. Using a combination of classical arrangement and traditional instruments including Uilleann pipes, the ensemble's stellar career has seen 40 albums and performances for royalty, the pope and masses of adoring fans.

Unrivalled in the authenticity of their Irish song and with a keen eye for new creative opportunities, The Chieftains have recently been collaborating with a surprising succession of contemporary artists including Bon Iver, Paolo Nutini and the Low Anthem. They have also learnt a thing or two over the years when it comes to putting on a good show - expect the spirited joy of a ceilidh, good-natured on-stage banter and above all the beautiful and virtuosic sounds of The Chieftains.
