David Fray Performs Chopin's Concerto No. 2
The Chicago Symphony Orchestra presents a program of all-Romantic Era works from iconic composers Weber, Chopin and Mendelssohn, led by world renowned German guest conductor Christoph Eschenbach. The ensemble will be augmented by the presence of wildcard piano virtuoso David Fray, a performer with poetry in his fleet fingers.
Mr. Fray employs the perfect balance between restraint and emotion in his muscular playing. Defined by brilliant technique and a penchant for an expressive dynamic range, the French pianist careens from explosive outburst to sweet softness with ease. Don't miss the young performer as he transforms his status from one to watch to a stalwart of the modern classical scene with each deft note on the keyboard.
Program:
Weber Overture to Der Freischutz
Chopin Piano Concerto No. 2
Mendelssohn Overture to A Midsummer Night's Dream
Mendelssohn Symphony No. 4
