Midwestern suburbia is unmasked in Sarah Sander's new play

Why See Sycamore?

World Premier

Playwright Sarah Sander takes a closer look at a conventionally happy Midwestern family in her new play Sycamore, and discovers that there's a lot more than meets the eye.

A darkly comic and humane drama, Sycamore centers on married couple David and Louise who live in a unnamed Midwestern suburb with their two teenage children Celia and Henry. Both siblings set their sights on the quiet boy who lives next door - this kind of romantic tussle between Celia and Henry has happened before and it ended very badly. Meanwhile, their parents's marriage is facing problems, as David's working hours are reduced and the household income begins to shrink. Can this 'happy' family stay happy for much longer?
