This is one time where all the hype and hoopla is not only justified, but doesn't come close to suggesting the grandeur of the work on stage. A Triumph.

Why See Outside Mullingar?

Moving Play Outside Mullingar Powerfully Resonates with Audiences

Set in rural Ireland, John Patrick Stanley's play about finding love in later life lights up the stage. The comedy which first premiered on Broadway in 2014 is back, exciting audiences with its humorous tale of love in the Irish countryside.

The play tells the story of farmers and neighbors Anthony and Rosemary. The tale delves into Rosemary's long standing love for Anthony and his apparent disinterest, though she is determined that they'll be together.

Outside Mullingar received a 2014 Tony Award nomination for Best Play as well as being nominated for two 2014 Outer Critics Circle Award nominations, these were for Outstanding New Broadway Play and Outstanding Actor in a Play. The play also gained two 2014 Drama Desk Award nominations, one for Outstanding Play and the other, Outstanding Featured Actor in a Play.
