Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty present a children's adaptation of The Emperor's New Clothes
Children's fantasy tale The Emperor's New Clothes tells the story of young future king Emperor Marcus the Third. Feeling apprehensive about becoming royalty, Marcus believes that if he changes the way he dresses, he'll be more prepared to sit on the throne, but he eventually learns a valuable lesson about appearances and self-esteem.
The play is based on the famous Danish tale The Emperor's New Clothes written by author Hans Christian Andersen. The original tale depicts an emperor who is promised clothes that will be invisible to those that are stupid, only to not have any new clothes on at all, and therefore making everyone believe that they are stupid.
Presenting an exciting cast as well as the team behind children's 2000 Broadway hit 'Seussical,' this enchanting tale carries a powerful message about self-identity, modesty and coming of age.
