FIRE THE SOUND ENGINEER

This was one of the worst concerts ever because there volume was so loud for this venue that you could hear Joe's voice. Bass drum and guitarist was to loud snd took away from the main act. did the sound engineer even take the headset off and listen? too bad so Joe was amazing.

TOO LOUD

could not understand any of the lyrics it was so loud. he played his ass off but could not enjoy it. why does it have to be so loud that it ruins the show?

TECHINICIANS

I thought my seating selection would be pretty good. Center stage orchestra. Instead, my seat was directly behind the sound/lighting technician who choose to stand and bob up and down to the music through the entire show. Looking at his back was quite distracting and the music was loud and the flashing stage light in the face didn’t help either. Waste of money.

PLEASE TURN DOWN THE SOUND!

Joe Bonamassa was great! Roanoke has a great venue. And the show would have been fantastic, but dang, the decibels were so high, you couldn’t understand any of the words. It was just really loud, painful noise coming at you. Fortunately I had brought my AirPods and I put them in on the noise canceling setting. I could make out all the words Joe and the backup singers sang. The three other people with me, however, were just made deaf. There’s absolutely no reason for the music to be played at a level appropriate for the outdoors when one’s in the great space the Berglund provides. I expect the sound engineers to do a better job to provide an enjoyable evening instead of just blasting everything as loud as possible.

FIND A NEW SOUND GUY

The acoustics in the Walt Disney theater are so good you can stand on the stage and be heard in the back without a mic. Whoever decided it was a good idea to hang 64 speakers (16x2 on each side of the stage) and then crank it up like that did a great disservice to Joe and his band, as well as the audience. We all spent a lot of money to see him as well as hear him. The light show was well done. However we could only assume he was playing well. Unfortunately the sound was such a blasting muddled mess that most of the time you literally couldn't tell whether the notes you were hearing were from his guitar, the keyboards or the vocalists. This was the 2nd one of his concerts we've gone to. The first was the same. We were hoping this one would be better. Sadly this will be the last. Not going to spend that kind of money for an unenjoyable experience. We'll just have to continue to enjoy his incredibly well mixed studio albums.

VOLUME LEVELS WERE DEAFENING

Joe plays with intensity and I liked his performance. Unfortunately, it was so loud that we hardly heard any words all night, and our whole body vibrated from the amplification. I would have left if we didn't have ear plugs. I heard comments from other people about the sound like "I'll talk to you in 2 days when I can hear again".
