The hit musical parody arrives in Chicago!
The latest spoof comedy show to hit Chicago pays a loving homage to Broadway monster hit musical Hamilton, by the creator of the hugely successful Forbidden Broadway shows, Gerard Alessandrini. Premiering at Off-Broadway's Triad Theatre in July 2016, it has already impressed the theater critics and amassed a loyal following that could potentially overshadow that of its inspiration! In fact, it has been so well received already that a certain Lin-Manuel Miranda himself has attended the show in New York - twice!
With plans to cast Chicago actors in the roles, this much-anticipated engagement has already garnered attention in the city, with the original show Hamilton having found a strong foothold here. A fan of Hamilton, Alessandrini was so impressed with the revolutionary (no pun intended, we promise) score and lyrics that he found himself writing parody numbers for fun - and then kept going! Before long he had reworked the original show into a full-on parody.
