TERRIBLE SOUND

I was really looking forward to this show, love Marcus king and the band As some other reviewers stated. Whoever was in charge of sound should be fired. That was the worst sound I’ve ever heard at any concert. Nobody stood out in the mix. Marcus could have been in the wrong key and you wouldn’t have known. Wall of absolute mush.

HORRIBLE SOUND AT THE WILTERN IN LA

What a letdown. For such an amazing band and lead singer/guitarist. All the instruments were a big mush pot of noise and you couldn’t hear Mr.King’s voice well. No one instrument could be heard. Please hire a new sound engineer!

GOT SOME WORK TO DO. TERRIBLE SOUND MIX.

I love Marcus King & the band but the show at Masonic last night was a poor showing, indeed. I'm not sure who was in charge of the sound board but the result was comically bad (and super annoying for veteran fans). Rumbling mush with no definition. Couldn't hear Marcus' guitar, no horns, no bass (how do you set a groove with no bass!), no kick drum. Nothing stood out. Felt bad for the guys. Wasn't a show to pick up more fans. I know how much those guys can rock, unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to see it.

SOMETHING IS OFF WITH MKB

Saw MKB last night (10/18/22) at the Mission Ballroom. Sold out show, openers were good and the sound was fine during those acts. Everyone was pretty pumped, standing and ready to go. Most around us were seated by the 3rd song and MKB just sucked, muddled, distorted, loud and chaotic. Nothing fit musically and we left after about 30 minutes feeling pretty let down. Other reviews are calling out the sound as the the issue, levels, mic'ing who knows ... but something is off because I think MK is capable of putting on great shows and should evaluate what the hell is going on.

TIRED OF THE ROAD?

As noted by many, early and often, the sound was bad. Too loud, bass drum and bass too loud, guitar not distinct. I have the first three albums and have been listening to Marcus since before the trip out with Chris Robinson. I say "tired" because fatigue happens on a long road stretch and the lack of caring for experience for the audience is what happens. This was not a good show at all. The tempo was too fast, too much new material and not any of the feel of the first albums. I expected to see a pedal steel guitar somewhere. Too much trying to be something else or not caring, just "getting through" the show. Definitely not the next SRV as one reviewer stated. The rhythm guitar was more entertaining to listen to as well as the Neal Francis band. I have seen hundreds of shows in several genres and only thought about or walked out of 3-4. Definitely thought about it a few times during this show.
