Wholesome fun for the little ones!
In theatre and dance, it is said that there are no small roles, just small dancers; something young aspiring ballerina Nancy must come to terms with in Emerald City Theatre's Chicago production of Fancy Nancy The Musical. Aimed at children ages 3 and up, this educational and fun family outing is filled to bursting with age appropriate themes and music.
Based on the popular children's book, the story follows the rambunctious Nancy who has her sights set on being the lead dancer in her first ballet recital. Her hunger for attention is deflated when the coveted part is given to someone else, with Nancy relegated to playing a boring old tree. With themes of being kind to and supporting others, the play sees Nancy learning to find the sparkle and flair in her own role, with many song and dance numbers along the way!
